In 1984, shortly after the opening of the Rue du Jour store, agnès b. opened the Galerie du Jour. “I always wanted to create a gallery to be able to show what I love. It is called a gallery, but one could say it is a place to show the various faces of things. I would also like to imagine new ways of circulating images and give everyone access to it.” With a strong representation of photography, the Galerie du Jour has shown works from reputable artists such as Jonas Mekas. Massimo Vittali, and Martin Parr, to emerging artists such as Ryan McGinley and Harmony Korine. In 1996, the Galerie du Jour moved to a larger space located at 44, Rue Quincampoix, near the Pompidou Centre. -
