French football to stage day of action against homophobia on 17 May

The French Professional Football League (LFP) and Paris Foot Gay (PFG) are joining forces to mark the international day against homophobia on 17 May. For the first time ever French footballers have launched a nationwide campaign to demonstrate their commitment to the fight against prejudice.
Various activities designed to raise public awareness are scheduled to take place in Week 36 of Ligue 1. On 16 May a video made by So Film and co-financed by the LFP will be screened before the evening kick-offs at the Parc des Princes (Paris Saint-Germain), the Geoffroy Guichard Stadium (Saint-Etienne) and the Louis II Stadium (Monaco). Never before has it been possible to mobilise professional footballers in this way. PFG are now hoping that other clubs will follow suit and support the struggle against prejudice next season.
