“3+1” – the “3” being Ryan McGinley, Harmony Korine, and Dash Snow, and the “1” being agnès b. An unmistakable trio from the American contemporary art scene, brought together by agnès b. in a place that has never lacked interest and has always remained loyal to these artists. Following the death of Dash Snow in 2009, agnès b. conceived the idea of showing his final artworks surrounded by works of his friends and peers, thus recreating the ambience of the exhibition “New York Scene”, presented at the Galerie du Jour in 2003. During this exhibition, the gallery became a playground for this group of artists, all of them young, and mostly unknown outside their own circles. They expressed themselves through video, photographs, sound, graffiti, drawings and installations, deriving inspiration from their lifestyles (punk-rock, hip-hop, skateboarding) to finally come up with an “art of the everyday.”
