agnès b. is supporting the release of the latest documentary film by Matt Wolf, Wild Combination, which traces the life of the musician Arthur Russell.
Synopsis: Wild Combination, a portrait of Arthur Russell, opens in the pastoral landscape of Oskaloosa, in Iowa. Chuck and Emily Russell are remembering their son Arthur and his early sources of inspiration. Like any teenager in the 1960s, Arthur was obsessed by Timothy Leary, John Cage and the Beat generation. His parents, coming from the mid-west, are a bit too conventional, so he decides to run away. When he arrives in San Francisco he joins a Buddhist community where he meets his associate and mentor, Allen Ginsberg. As the community makes him hide in order to play his cello in freedom, he ends up leaving for New York to find Ginsberg. Allen Ginsberg describes Arthur has a sensitive person with a fine young mind, but at the same time curiously hesitant. They worked together on many recordings.Release of the DVD on 18 November 2008
